Job Description

As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting various aspects of the company’s litigation department including eDiscovery activities, workflow management, and attorney support. Rice & Kendig is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a fast-paced and extremely active, in-house legal team.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting various aspects of the company’s litigation department including eDiscovery activities, workflow management, and attorney support
  • Provides technical assistance to attorneys using automated case management systems and maintains recordkeeping systems for tracking the progress of investigations and cases
  • Uses electronic databases and other electronic means to perform litigation support tasks, including reviewing, organizing, indexing, tagging, and summarizing documents, files, and other materials
  • Conducts database searches for documents and information
  • Performs intensive document review in accordance with review protocols, regularly meeting or exceeding the minimum number required on a weekly basis (which will vary depending on the complexity and nature of the assignment)
  • Assists attorneys with all phases of civil litigation, including pretrial discovery, motions, hearings, trials, and appeals
  • Assists attorneys in preparing for, and conducting, depositions and interviews with investigative sources, expert witnesses, and prospective fact witnesses

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, or a related field and/or at least 3 years experience in a law firm or legal setting (bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite Applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
